The carat is the unit of weight of a diamond. Carat is often confused with size even though it is actually a measure of weight. One carat equals 200 milligrams or 0.2 grams. Clarity grade notes the number, size, relief, nature, and position of inclusions in a diamond. SI1 and SI2 diamonds have noticeable inclusions at 10x magnification, which may be eye-visible. VS inclusions are harder to find with magnification, and usually eye-clean. VVS inclusions are difficult for even a skilled gemologist to find with magnification.
